DESCRIPTION RATINGS & REVIEWS PRESCRIPTION GUIDE

The Tom Ford 5353 eyeglasses bring sophisticated style to everyday prescription eyewear. Designed for women who appreciate luxury without excess, this full-rim acetate frame balances a square-geometric shape with a subtle cat-eye lift that flatters a range of face shapes.

The front is constructed from premium Italian acetate—lightweight, hypoallergenic, and available in versatile colors including crystal clear, dark brown, shiny black, and shiny fuchsia. Slim metal temples in brushed rose gold or pale gold finishes add a refined contrast, while Tom Ford's signature "T" logo sits at each hinge. The 15mm saddle bridge (no adjustable nose pads) provides a sleek, streamlined look and stable fit.

Available in two sizes—52-15-140 and 54-15-140—the 5353 accommodates a variety of face widths. The 140mm temples curve comfortably behind the ears, and the full-rim design supports a wide range of prescription strengths, including progressives. Customers note the frame is noticeably light and comfortable for all-day wear, with several reviewers mentioning they own the 5353 in multiple colors.

"They are lightweight, very comfortable, and I like them so much I have them in black, fuschia, and champagne." — Designer Optics customer

Disappointed

I was very disappointed with the glasses I ordered. The prescription lenses have numbers/letters etched into the lenses which obstruct my view when I wear them so I wasted a lot of money on glasses I can’t wear.

Damaged glasses.

I paid for express shipping, and it took well over 10 business days to receive my glasses. When I finally received my glasses, they had sent them in a box that was the size of my tiny glasses box. So the box was damaged during transit, and so were my glasses. Nothing has been done to resolve this issue.

Tom Ford 5353 vs Similar Women's Eyeglasses

If you're considering the Tom Ford 5353, you might also be weighing other women's acetate frames in the Tom Ford collection. Here's how the 5353 compares to three popular alternatives in our catalog.

Tom Ford 5353 vs 5537B Blue Light Blocking Eyeglasses

Both frames share a similar square-geometric shape and full-rim acetate construction, but the Tom Ford 5537B includes built-in blue-light-filtering lenses. If you spend significant time on computers, tablets, or phones, the 5537B's blue-light technology can reduce eye strain and improve visual comfort. However, the 5353 offers more color variety and works with any lens type you choose—making it more versatile if you don't need blue-light filtering or prefer clear lenses.

Tom Ford 5353 vs 5514 Eyeglasses

The Tom Ford 5514 takes the cat-eye aesthetic further than the 5353. While the 5353 has a subtle upswept corner, the 5514 features a more pronounced vintage-inspired cat-eye shape. If you want a bolder, more retro look, the 5514 delivers. But if you prefer a frame that balances feminine style with everyday versatility, the 5353's softer square-geometric shape is the better choice—it reads as polished and professional without calling too much attention.

Tom Ford 5353 vs 5636B Eyeglasses

The Tom Ford 5636B is a newer release with similar acetate construction and comparable sizing. Both frames offer the same Tom Ford quality and signature "T" logo detailing. The 5636B may appeal if you want the latest design, but the 5353 has a longer track record with more customer reviews and a wider range of available colors. For most buyers, the 5353 remains the safer, more proven choice.

Our recommendation: The Tom Ford 5353 strikes the best balance of versatility, comfort, and style. Its subtle cat-eye lift adds femininity without limiting wearability, and the range of colors lets you match your personal style. Choose the 5537B if blue-light filtering is a priority, or the 5514 if you want a more dramatic cat-eye statement.
